01 What is the Giving Exchange?

The Giving Exchange is an innovative event showcasing the work of South African non profit organisations (NPOs).

In 2005, 125 NPOs were selected by public voting to participate in Giving Exchange expos held in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

What is the aim of the Giving Exchange?
The Giving Exchange provides a meeting place where NPOs, concerned individuals and businesses can engage with each other to explore new, relevant and effective giving solutions that advance development work in the country.

The Giving Exchange promotes the important idea that giving is not only about the donation of money. NPOs are able to market their volunteer requests for time and skills. They can feature projects that require funding and other resources, as well as advertise their 'Wishlists' of items that they need do their work.

This year the Giving Exchange has been created by the volunteer assistance of 20 Graphic Designers who have each worked to create the unique presentations of the 32 exhibiting organisations.
