ANDE South Africa Chapter Director

The Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) is a global network of organizations that propel entrepreneurship in emerging markets. ANDE members provide critical financial, educational, and business support services to small and growing businesses (SGBs) based on the conviction that SGBs will create jobs, stimulate long-term economic growth, and produce environmental and social benefits. 

ANDE is part of the Aspen Institute, an educational and policy studies organization based in the United States. ANDE seeks a part-time Chapter Director to support leading the implementation of an updated strategy for our South Africa Chapter. Working in a consulting capacity, responsibilities will include: 

• Fleshing out the current strategy and work plan and implementing a series of activities and recommendations
• Developing a longer term work plan and operational model
• Developing and implementing a revenue generation strategy for the chapter
• Helping ANDE SA to increase its profile and develop new partnerships
• Strengthening the collaboration among existing ANDE members
• Increasing local membership 

• Knowledge and understanding of the South Africa entrepreneurship, Business Development
• Services (BDS), Enterprise Development (ED) and/or impact investing space
• Existing contacts within the Africa entrepreneurship, BDS, ED and/or impact investing space
• Ability to quickly turn plans into action
• Strong public speaking and writing abilities
• Facilitation skills; ability to build consensus of multiple organizations with distinct goals
• Marketing and/or fundraising expertise
