What could be more eye-catching than a sea of bright yellow cycling jerseys or more inspiring than a team of 143 cyclists, all riding for Reach For A Dream in the 35th annual Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour.
This is the first year that this Myggsa-registered cause, Reach For A Dream, has signed up for a charity bond and the foundation has been overwhelmed by the response from riders across the country wanting to make dreams come true.
Joining the Dream Team for the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour is Janez Vermeiren, Top Billing presenter and owner of Full Circle Model Management. Janez has been involved with Reach For A Dream previously, attending one of their projects for girls called Queen For A Day. The girls took part in a fashion show and Janez was there to walk each young lady down the ramp. The purpose of the Queen For A Day project is to make each girl feel special and beautiful to ease the effect of their illness on their bodies and self-esteem.
"They are not just riding to reach the finish line; they are helping to fulfil a dream, which will offer hope to a child through some of their darkest days whilst fighting a life-threatening illness" says Genevieve Cross, Marketing Coordinator for Reach For A Dream Western Cape.
Reach For A Dream believes that no child should live without hope. Childhood can be the most magical phase of the human existence, filled with dreams, aspirations and most of all… fun!
