Bertha Centre for Social Innovation is offering a new short course that François Bonnici and Cynthia Schweer Rayner are convening at the UCT Graduate School of Business, Bertha Centre for Social Innovation, this coming October (17-21 October in Cape Town). We are thrilled to offer this course, which is the culmination of a year of research with the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship and the Motsepe Foundation on how social entrepreneurs can move beyond service delivery to shift social systems holistically and sustainably.

We have been fortunate to have been able to meet with leading social entrepreneurs (both for-profit and non-profit) around the world, documenting their experiences with strategies such as movement building, advocacy, policy reform, government integration and power shifting. We believe that these case studies incorporate a wealth of knowledge for social entrepreneurs to move to the “next chapter”, and we are looking forward to sharing these learnings in the course this Spring. The course will feature international and local case studies, as well as a range of exciting lecturers and practitioners. The course will also bring together senior leaders from nonprofits in South Africa and beyond, which we anticipate will create a wonderful networking opportunity for the next generation of “systems entrepreneurs.”
