Cape Flats Nature is building a volunteer suport base from the low-income communities surrounding the project's pilot sites: Philippi, Crossroads, Nyanga, Gugulethu, Manenberg, Hanover Park, Mitchells Plain, Khayelitsha, Macassar and in the Strand area (Cassablanca, Fairview, Rusthof, Temperance Town, Southfork, Gustrow, Lwandle, Nomzamo. We would welcome volunteers from companies in or nearby these areas, or from companies located elsewhere but sourcing employees from these areas. In addition, there are areas of the project's overall work that require professional skills for which we do not have a budget.
Time We Need
one day once-off, plus one or two hours additional consultation to work through results - digital photography training
technically competent digital photographer with ability to transfer skills required to build the capacity of the project team to take quality digital pics
several hours early 2006 - financial planning
advice and capacity building in budgeting for developmenbt
several hours early 2006 - financial systems development
advice and capacity building in financial management for development, based on Titan or other similar system
4 hours a quarter - marketing and communication
marketing and public relations advice and capacity building, with a good understanding of communications on the Cape Flats
usually one to two hours at a time at scheduled project activities. Either on weekday mornings or Saturdays - professional / good amateur photography
professional or amateur with kken interest and ability, and enough understanding to capture graphic representations of project work
however long it takes! - website design
redesign the project website so it is attractive, user-friendly, accurately reflects the work of the project, and can easily be updated by project staff
