It was with much delight that we received the donation from you. We had just spent the morning wondering where we were going to get enough money to buy school uniforms for some of the orphans whom we assist in Alexandra. Then suddenly there was Anne! An Alexandra Angel!
These children may live alone in young adult headed households or with relatives or friends but all have lost their parents to AIDS and many are in extended families that do not always have the resources to feed, clothe, educate and house them adequately. We therefore try and see to their needs as best we can from a make-shift kitchen and a shack.
Being the beginning of the year the need for school uniforms is on everyone's mind and we were just looking at what we could do for all our children who we are delighted are able to continue to attend school. Your donation has made it possible to ensure that they all can fit in and go to school in the right clothes. This is very important so that they do not feel any different from other children their age.
We pass school uniforms from one child to another once they have grown out of them, even if they are from different families but we always try to ensure that they can go to school in a clean and neat uniform. Your donation will be felt for many years and by many children. Thank you for your kindness and your sound investment in the future of these children.
