The aim of Potchefstroom Service Centre for the Aged is to provide services to the aged in Potchefstroom to keep them as active and contributing members of the community of Potchefstroom for as long as possible. In order to acquire this goal, we’ll have to expand our health services.
The health department of Potchefstroom Service Centre for the Aged consists of four divisions, namely Clinic services, Therapy clinic, Home nursing and 24 hour home nursing. The aids and equipment as listed in the Wishlist, will be of great help to utilise the service to the optimum.
A donation of any of the items on the Wishlist to Potchefstroom Service Centre for the Aged, will enable us to render the current services, delivered by our health department, more effectively with less cost.
The elderly become poorer annually as a result of the lower interest rates on investments. Old age pensions are totally insufficient. The elderly gets older, causing increased assistance. Institutional care are overcrowded and are inaccessible to some of the elderly, the Service Centre is thereby forced to take care of them in the community.
