Ntataise’s aim is to provide good quality early childhood development opportunities for children living in rural disadvantaged areas of South Africa with a view to providing these children with a solid foundation for later learning, and to off set some of the negative effects of the environment in which they live. 

 

The context refers to disadvantaged community based pre-schools housed in brick buildings, shacks, sheds, church halls often with minimal physical facilities. It would assist children in developing essential pre-literacy and numeracy skills.
