For a while now I have been wanting to have a fixed space in Hanover Park from which to work. After negotiating with one of the principals I've managed to secure two big classrooms which have are not being used in one of the primary schools in the area. 

 

Having space in the area will be a great help for a number of reasons. I'd like to have the one room as office space and a place for an administrator to work. It will also be a space for the volunteers to meet  regularly and CASE will finally have its own base from which to work so that we don't have to move around from venue venue fro our meetings and supervision sessions.  For eg. Volunteers will be able to get their notes and information as well as hand their stats in to a central point. It could then also be used as an evening venue for one of the parent support groups. This is also more ideal when funders want to make site visits.

 

The second classroom is bigger. One section is a store-room, and the main part will be a space for the youth leaders to hang out. We'd like for them to use it as a safe space to meet whenever they want to as well as a place to study, and have their meetings. Some of them will also run a programme for some of the children after school from here. The two classrooms unfortunately look as if a bomb has hit them and need some work, in order for us to function effectively in them.
