La Leche League provides information and assistance to all mothers wishing to breastfeed their babies. Our Peer Counsellor program is an extentionof this service. In the Western cape the Department of Health has acknowledged the importance of having these counsellors at clinics and maternity units to offer mother-to-mother support at a critical time. These Peer Counsellors are volunteers and only receive reimbursements for some of the expenses they imncur in doing their jobs.

This assistance will ease the financial burden of the volunteer work for these peer counsellors. As a non profit organisation we are not able to offer this from our working budget.
