Engaging in social development to protect the best interest of children, through social mobilization, community development, advocacy, prevention programmes, capacity building and ultimately to build families.

This organisation is a Non-Profit organisation. The Society was started as a Women’s Organisation Shelter and Girl’s Association. It was formed by churches and women’s societies that later developed into Child Life Protection in 1916. Since then, this organisation has changed name but continued I rendering valuable services to the communities of East London, targeting children and families of all race groups. The Society’s main function over the past 88 years is Child Protection through social services. Over the last few years we have moved into social development and all services are structured into programmes. Although some of the programmes are still traditional social services, all of them include development activities aimed at making a contribution towards the development of communities.
