Executive Summary
Established in 1993, our primary function at TLC has always been to rescue abandoned babies and place them into adoptive families as soon as possible. We provide them with excellent care whilst pursuing their right to have a family of their own. In the past twelve years TLC has assisted more than 500 babies, successfully placing them into adoption or re-uniting them with their own rehabilitated or extended family. It has never been the intention that TLC should become an institutional home. However, occasionally there is a child who cannot be placed for various reasons. Whenever we admit a baby, we make the commitment that any child in our care will not be abandoned a second time, by being moved into an institution. Rather we adopt such a child ourselves and provide that child with the permanent family that he or she lacks. Our oldest children are thirteen and we ensure that each of them enjoy all the benefits of a normal family life.
