Executive Summary
The The Upliftment Programme’s core work being Care Clowning, which aims to address the socio-emotional need of the bed ridden ailed children in a meaningful way. This Uplifting support, forms part of the hospital patient-care system and available medical expertise. We bring consistent doses of laughter and play to children's bedsides. We reach the healthy child within each being. We involve and empower individuals through performance upliftment.
Cape Town, 24 September - This past Saturday saw the graduation celebration of fourteen more Care Clowns at the Groote Schuur Hospital. The clowns, who have completed their ten-week training programme with The Upliftment Programme (the UP), will now be able to spread laughter at children’s wards throughout the Western Cape, and they are now welcomed members of this very uplifting non-profit organisation.
