To create an environment where youth are fully aware of their unlimited potential, opportunities and skills, primarily those from disadvantaged backgrounds and to instill pride, self-esteem and self-image into each of them. To show and teach the youth the tremendous benefits of recreational activities and encourage them to be innovative, creative, and independent in order to build a solid mind frame.

T.O.Y's slogan is –Take Ownership of Yourselves - a message to young people to make them aware that nobody but themselves will decide what their future will look like and that it is within their power to improve their lifestyle and future outlook, no matter what their family background might be.

 

Most of the barriers that young people want to blame for their situations are in the head. It is all in the way one thinks. It has been said that - In life, if you refuse to accept anything but the best, very often, you get it. T.O.Y was founded and is managed by a passionate, focused and ambitious team of young people , who without any initial funding, have managed to push the objectives of T.O.Y forward.

 

The team is made up of young people residing mainly in Port Shepstone, Johannesburg, Lusikisiki as well as Durban. These people are mainly from around Port Shepstone, specifically the Ugu District, our target area. Port Shepstone is where our head office is. We have been operating for 11 months.
