Our mission is to bring help and care to street children and others in need in our community. We will provide them with love, shelter and food in a nurturing and secure environment. We will care for the social, emotional, physical and spiritual needs. We will give them training, therapy and guidance so that they may realise their full human potential and take their rightful place in the community.

Kids Haven started in 1992 when Moira Simpson took ownership of the project by occupying an abandoned building in order to open a residential centre for street children.  In 1999, Kids Haven relocated to our present facilities.

 

Kids Haven provides residential care to street children and other abused, abandoned and neglected children in need.  The care includes access to appropriate education for the individual, counselling and therapy and opportunities to be involved in sport and other recreational activities.  Kids Haven seeks to reunify children with family, foster families or alternative care and offers parent training programmes and community support to improve the lives of families.  Kids Haven offers advice and guidance to other organisations working in the field of street children.  Kids Haven writes appropriate programmes for the management of street children that are made available to Government offices and other organisations.
