Rain gear/foul weather gear for young sail training participants
Cause: Cape Windjammers Education Trust (CWET)
Approximate Total Cost: R 700.00
Province: Western Cape

Youth that we recruit for the sail training trips mainly comes from priviously disadvantaged and low income areas such as Manenberg, Langa, Gugulethu and Khayelitsa and their are not in posession to own their own foul weather or rain gear for the sail training trips. Sometimes the weather conditions on board are very tough but the ship still need to be moved forward, this is the part of the great learning experience to overcome those tought conditions! Therefore we would need foul weather gear for the participants of the sail training trips. Youth is aged between 15- 25 years so various sizes of gear would be required. A donation of second hand gear would be very welcome too. At the moment we are looking to send 14 participant to the next trip and would need gear that would be later stored with the Cape Windjammers Education Trust and then used for future trips.

The foul weather gear is essential especially for the sailing in winter time. Donations of the new or second hand gear would be greatly appreciated.
