Teachers Dream / Celebrating our Cultural Pride
Celebrating our Cultural Pride
Project

As an Arts and Culture educator, I would like to see the effective teaching of this Learning Area and meaningful participation by learners, I would like to promote respect recognition of all indigenous knowledge, understanding, acquiring skills, planning, rehearsing, sketching, performing and sculpting. Learners must use relevant materials and encyclopaedia to visit cultural places to get information and see what’s happening in South African Indigenous Cultures (all Cultures of South Africa).

By Indigenous we mean Cultures that are originally from a particular place e.g. Zulu, Pedis, etc. This is to teach them to have knowledge and respect of other people’s cultures. Visit the National Culture History Museum at Visagie Street in Pretoria. The learners can plan a cultural of their choice and tell a story about that Culture, they must do research to see historic differences of the different culture. By doing this they will have respect and appreciation for other peoples culture, norms and values
